After I brought some of my other models into work, one of my co-workers asked if I would make a model for her. After looking around in one of my old Bandai catalogs, she decided to get a Gyan. I am now in the process of building the kit, and replacing bits I don't like. In the end, I hope the results will be worth all this time I'm keeping her waiting.
The High Grade Gyan was one of the first kits in the High Grade Universal Century line. It's a fairly basic kit, and it does have its low points, such as the exposed polycaps on the arms and the somewhat boxy "spheres" on the shoulders.
I've made some more progress, but it's still slow going. I've replaced the ankle joint with something much more posable, and got rid of the ugly polycap mounts that were visible when looking at the leg from the front. I also made some detailing for the rear skirt - it's a bit sloppy but it looks alright.
